Starting September 2017 Lakewood Photographic Society will be going to one meeting a month  except for January and February, where the club will not hold meetings except for field trips. Meetings will be on a Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 pm.  Each meeting will begin with a 10-15 minute tutorial followed by a planned presentation.  Meetings take place at the Lakewood Senior Center West at 16024 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, OH 44107 unless otherwise posted. [We are not a senior organization – we meet at this location thanks to the City of Lakewood]  Please stop by and check us out. All meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend. There is a small membership fee for those wishing to become official members and support the club.

Acclaimed artist Rachel Sussman, widely known for her New York Times best-selling book chronicling her decade-long project The Oldest Living Things in the World, will talk about the intersection of science, beauty and time in her work as part of the Synapse Lecture series at the Akron Art Museum on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 6:30 P.M.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
Check out more info. on our special events page.

NOTE:  Vicki Wert and her husband [Cleveland Photographic Society members or past members] are having a photograph exhibition at the Freedson Gallery in the lobby of the Winton Place Condo on Lake Road. The Wert’s are both superb photographers who have traveled the world and have won many first place awards at CPS. I believe the exhibition is on till the end of the month.  (info provided by Robert Parry)  You may wish to stop if you are in the area and check out their work.

Don’t miss out on our October club meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 31st starting at 7 pm.  We will be having something special for Halloween.  We look forward to seeing many of our members, former members, and interested members of our community.

Pictures taken at this year’s  Cleveland Asian Festival,  Parade the Circle, and other photo field trips  are posted on our Facebook page.  If you missed these events you missed some great picture opportunities.
